our advocacy The Proper Care and Treatment of Animals

Who loves us, whether we’re on top of the world or down in the dumps, rolling in the dough or barely scraping by? Our animal companions, of course! They’re our best friends, and we owe it to them to make sure that their lives are as happy and comfortable as they can possibly be.
But caring for our best friends isn’t as simple as just filling their food bowls and taking them to the veterinarian when they’re sick. Bringing an animal companion into our lives is a big responsibility—one that means making a lifetime commitment (which could be 15 years or more, depending on the animal) to provide them with exercise, training, grooming, food, veterinary care, and, of course, plenty of love and attention.
This site will help you do just that, with everything you need to know about being a great guardian to your furry, feathered, and finned friends. From housetraining Fido to nontoxic flea control, from spaying and neutering to saving kitty’s claws and your couch, you’ve found your reliable source for animal-care advice.

Article about code.org

Code.org is a non-profit dedicated to expanding participation in computer science education by making it available in more schools, and increasing participation by women and underrepresented students of color. Our vision is that every student in every school should have the opportunity to learn computer programming. We believe computer science should be part of the core curriculum in education, alongside other science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) courses, such as biology, physics, chemistry and algebra.

Their goals include:

  1. Bringing Computer Science classes to every K-12 school in the United States, especially in urban and rural neighborhoods.
  2. Demonstrating the successful use of online curriculum in public school classrooms
  3. Changing policies in all 50 states to categorize C.S. as part of the math/science "core" curriculum
  4. Harnessing the collective power of the tech community to celebrate and grow C.S. education worldwide
  5. To increase the representation of women and students of color in the field of Computer Science.

Article about Delicious.com

Delicious is a social bookmarking web service for storing, sharing, and discovering web bookmarks.Delicious uses a non-hierarchical classification system in which users can tag each of their bookmarks with freely chosen index terms (generating a kind of folksonomy). A combined view of everyone's bookmarks with a given tag is available; for instance, the URL http://delicious.com/tag/wikidisplays all of the most recent links tagged "wiki". Its collective nature makes it possible to view bookmarks added by other users.

Delicious also allowed users to group links with similar topics together to form a "Stack", and include title and descriptions for the Stack page.Stacks could be worked on collaboratively with other users, and could be followed and shared with other users. Stacks were added in September 2011 and removed in July 2012.
Delicious has a "hotlist" on its home page and "recent" pages, which help to make the website a conveyor of Internet memes and trends. Users can also explore stacks on the home page by navigating categories like Arts & Design, Education, et cetera.
To facilitate newcomers, Delicious provides an option to import bookmarks from the web browsers to its site so that new users can quickly get started with the site.
Delicious is one of the most popular social bookmarking services. Many features have contributed to this, including the website's simple interface,human-readable URL scheme, a novel domain name, a simple REST-like API, and RSS feeds for web syndication.
Use of Delicious is free. The source code of the site is not available, but a user can download his or her own data through the site's API in an XML orJSON format, or export it to a standard Netscape bookmarks format.
All bookmarks posted to Delicious are publicly viewable by default, although users can mark specific bookmarks as private, and imported bookmarks are private by default. The public aspect is emphasized; the site is not focused on storing private ("not shared") bookmark collections.[7] Delicious linkrolls, tagrolls, network badges, RSS feeds, and the site's daily blog posting feature can be used to display bookmarks on weblogs.
There are several competing social bookmarking websites including some open source clones.
